Don’t Give Up

Have you ever started something and wanted to quit? This week: why a setback is not the end of your story, what to do when you feel like you don’t fit in, and how to pray when you don’t know what to say.

The Lesson

Don’t give up!

By Deaconess Donna Carrington · 1 min read

Have you ever started something and wanted to quit? Maybe you started praying but didn’t see an answer immediately. Maybe you tried to improve your grades. Maybe you were learning a new skill and became frustrated.

Sometimes life becomes difficult, and quitting seems easier. But the Bible encourages us to keep going. Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

Notice the words “if we faint not.” There may be times when you don’t see results immediately. That doesn’t mean nothing is happening.

A farmer plants a seed and waits. The seed doesn’t become a tree overnight. Your spiritual growth also takes time.

Keep praying. Keep reading your Bible. Keep trusting God. Keep doing what is right. When you fall, get back up. When you make a mistake, learn from it. When you feel discouraged, ask God for strength.

Real Talk

When you feel like you don’t fit in

Have you ever walked into a room and felt like you didn’t belong? Maybe everyone seems to have their own group of friends, and you feel left out. Maybe you dress differently, think differently, or simply don’t feel like you fit in.

Here’s the real talk: you don’t have to fit in with everyone to have value. Sometimes we spend so much time trying to be accepted that we start changing who we are. We may laugh at things we don’t think are funny, do things we know are wrong, or pretend to like things just because everyone else does. But God didn’t create you to be a copy of somebody else.

You were created to be you. Psalm 139:14 says, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

God made you uniquely. Your personality, talents, gifts, dreams and experiences are part of your story. You don’t need to become someone else to be valuable. Just be you.

Where love lives (by Crystal)

Love is the smile that brightens my day,
The gentle words that never fade away.
It’s holding on when times get tough,
And knowing that one heart can be enough.

Love isn’t perfect, but it feels so true,
And somehow, my heart always leads me to you.

God in our lives (by Rebekah)

God is with us every day,
He guides our steps along the way.
Through joy and sorrow, near or far,
His love reminds us who we are.

When life is hard and hope feels small,
God gives us strength to face it all.
