Positive youth making a difference

By Deaconess Donna Carrington · 2 min read

When we think about positive youth, we think about young people who choose to make a difference through their attitudes, actions and character. They are respectful, responsible, compassionate, and willing to learn and grow. Instead of being discouraged by challenges, they see opportunities to improve themselves and help others.

Remember that every young person has the potential to become a positive influence at home, in school, at church and in the community. By making wise choices, treating others with kindness, working hard, and standing up for what is right, youth can inspire those around them and bring about meaningful change.

The Bible encourages young people to lead by example. 1 Timothy 4:12 reminds us to be examples “in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” When young people live by these values, they become leaders who bring hope, encouragement and positive change to the world.

Being a positive youth is not about being perfect. It is about striving each day to grow in character, serve others, and honour God through your life. Small acts of kindness, honesty and faithfulness can have a lasting impact on your family, friends and community.

Shine where you are

When you are young, it’s a season of growth, learning, and discovering God’s purpose for your life. The choices you make today will shape the person you become tomorrow. God has given every person unique gifts, talents and opportunities to make a positive difference.

1 Timothy 4:12 reminds us that age does not limit our ability to lead or inspire others. By showing kindness, honesty, respect and compassion, we can reflect Christ in our homes, schools, workplaces and communities.

No matter what challenges you face, remember that God is always with you. Trust Him, seek His guidance through prayer and His word, and never underestimate what He can do through a willing heart.

Start where you are. Use what God has given you. Shine your light for Christ, and let your life encourage others to follow Him.
